Installation Guide

Connect Hermes to BigCommerce checkout shipping zones after BigCommerce issues the shipping carrier ID for the provider app.

Connection Option

Hermes expects an api_token connection option. The value should match the provider token configured in the Hermes production environment.

BigCommerce Setup

  1. Create the Hermes Shipping Provider app in the BigCommerce Developer Portal.
  2. Send the app name, quote URL, check-connection URL, and connection option to BigCommerce shipping provider support.
  3. Wait for BigCommerce to issue the provider shipping carrier ID.
  4. Connect the carrier to the store using the issued carrier ID and the Hermes api_token.
  5. Add the Hermes method to the target shipping zone.
  6. Test checkout with a known case-pack product before enabling broad traffic.

Product Data Required

Products should carry accurate case-pack quantity, package weight, and package dimensions. Hermes uses that data so checkout can sell units while rating the correct physical case count.
